The STS 20 is a brownfield terminal for handling solid bulk cargoes, especially salt and fertilizers, within the Port of Santos, state of São Paulo, that will be leased by auction.
Among the challenges that justify the partnership between the public and private sectors, the need to provide greater legal certainty and predictability stands out. The project shall stimulate investments in the sector, especially for the expansion of terminals, as well as improving the operational efficiency and competitiveness of the national ports.
Upon integration of PPI in the “leasing” modality, the process involves the participation of partner agencies and institutions such as: National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ), Brazilian Enterprise for Planning and Logistics (EPL), Ministry of Infrastructure (Minfra), which acts as the granting authority.
The terminal area is approximately 29,278 m². The estimated investments are in the order of U$ 55 million. The lease contractual term is 25 years and may be extended, at the sole discretion of the granting authority, up to a maximum of 70 years. The bidding criterion of the auction will be the highest grant value, with the minimum grant being R$ 1 real. The payment of the winning award will be divided into 5 annual installments.
The bid notice and all the technical documents are published on ANTAQ´s website and the public auction will be held on August 09th of 2019.
