    TCU approves studies of airports in the 5th Round

    The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) approved, on October 24th, studies for the concession of the Block of 12 qualified airports in the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI) of the Federal Government. The projects are part of the 5th Round of Airport Concessions and were included in the Program by the 3rd Meeting of the Council. They are divided into three Blocks: Northeast, Midwest and Southeast.     Airports: Public Consultation for the 5th Round of Airport Concessions. The 5th Round of Airport Concessions is currently under way. The public consultation phase has started and according to the Investment Partnerships Program's (PPI) agenda the auction is scheduled for the 4th quarter, 2018. The public consultation on the feasibility studies and on the draft documents (notice of auction and contract agreement) was launched on 05/29/18.     Brazil’s four airports sold for R$ 3.72 billion

    Brazil's four airports auctioned today (Porto Alegre, Salvador, Florianópolis and Fortaleza) by the country's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) were sold for a total amount of R$ 3.72 billion, with a 23% premium above the initially expected by the government, of R$ 3.01 billion and 93.75% premium in relation to the minimum offer of R$ 754 million.     The auction for the four airports to be conceded to the private sector - Salvador (BA), Florianópolis (SC), Fortaleza (CE) and Porto Alegre (RS) - will be held this Thursday (03/16), 10:00 am at BM&FBovespa, in São Paulo. The initial offer in Thursday’s auction, 25% of issuance, is at least R$ 31 million for the Porto Alegre (RS) airport, R$ 310 million for the Salvador (BA) airport, R$ 53 million for the Florianópolis (SC) airport and R$ 360 million for the Fortaleza (CE) airport.

    Ministry of Transport opens public consultation on exchange rate protection for airport concessions

    Brazil's Ministry of Transports set an ordinance to open public consultation in order to deal with the currency exchange protection mechanism policy for partnerships in the airport sector.
