The IQI 11 is a liquid bulk terminal, with 33,607m² of area, brownfield, located within the Port of Itaqui, in the Municipality of São Luis, State of Maranhão, that will be leased by auction.
Among the challenges that justify the partnership between the public and private sectors, the need to provide greater legal certainty and predictability stands out. The project shall stimulate investments in the sector, especially for the expansion of terminals, as well as improving the operational efficiency and competitiveness of the national ports.
Upon integration of PPI in the “leasing” modality, the process involves the participation of partner agencies and institutions such as: National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ), Brazilian Enterprise for Planning and Logistics (EPL), Ministry of Infrastructure (Minfra), which acts as the granting authority.
The project will enable investments to upgrade the terminal and provide a static storage capacity of 63,000 m³ of fuel. The estimated investments are in the order of U$ 16.3 million. The contractual term is 20 years and may be extended successively, at the sole discretion of the granting authority, up to a maximum of 70 (seventy) years. The bidding criterion of the auction will be the highest grant value, with the minimum grant being 1.0 real. The payment of the winning award will be divided into 5 annual installments.
