Project Summary

The São Simão, Miranda, Volta Grande and Jaguara hydroelectric plants are located in the states of Minas Gerais and Goiás. These projects were qualified under the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI) at the 1st Meeting of the PPI Board (São Simão, Miranda and Volta Grande) and in the 3rd Meeting (Jaguara).

These projects deliver their electricity production to the National Interconnected System (SIN), and have a total installed capacity of 2,922 MW, with a physical guarantee of 1,972.5 MW. According to the bid notice of generation public sale No. 01/2017 of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), the infrastructure investments estimated for the four projects total the amount of R$ 272,556 million/year, during the concession term.

The concession of these plants occurred in the middle of the public sale held on September 27, 2017, with the contracting of the electricity generation service - under the regime dealt with in Act 12,783/2013 (wording given by Act 13,203/2015 ), within 30 years, counted from the date of signature of the respective agreement, scheduled for 11/10/2017. The public sale had the following result:

The process involved the participation of the following bodies and entities: ANEEL, which has the right to grant the project, and the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), granting power.

The concession of these enterprises complies with the regime referred to in Act 12,783/2013, in addition to observing the sector guidelines established in the SIN planning and operation - as well as the rules of the Regulated Contracting Environment (RCA) and the Free Contracting Environment (ACL) from the energy sector.

Currently, the plants are all in operation and therefore have the environmental operating licenses in effect. In this sense, possible environmental impacts are already properly mapped, so that the environmental factors and programs were presented to the competent bodies.
