Companies sign contracts for the concession of transmission lines auctioned by Aneel

In a ceremony at the Planalto Palace on Monday (25), PPI Special Secretary Adalberto Vasconcelos, Energy Secretary and Airports, Pedro Bruno, PPI Secretary of Transport, Marcelo Cunha and the Minister of the Secretariat of Government ( Segov), Santos Cruz, were present at the signing of the concession contracts for the construction of new electric power transmission lines, led by President Jair Bolsonaro.

The board of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) and the winning companies of the transmission auction signed the concession contracts this afternoon (25). The auction in which 16 batches of power transmission lines were sold took place in December 2018.

Of the 16 lots offered, four were sold by Neoenergia SA, controlled by Spain's Iberdrola.

Investments

According to Aneel, the contracts should generate about R $ 13.2 billion in investments, in addition to 28 thousand direct jobs. The investment value was a record for an auction of power transmission lines.
 
At the auction, the companies collected 55 transmission lines, with 7,152 km of extension, and 25 substations with a processing capacity of 14,819 MVA.

The concessions are valid for 25 years from the signing of the contracts, and the term of the works varies from 48 to 60 months. According to Aneel, the projects are located in the following states: Amazonas, Amapá, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and Tocantins.
